He was responsible for Packwood House in England which is a Grade II listed garden, owned by the National Trust.  Martyn strived to preserve the gardens original design whose Carolean garden dated back to approximately 1650-70 and incorporates a sunken garden which has extensive perennial borders and Yew topiary.

In 1997 Martyn and his family moved from England to accept a commission to design and landscape 80 acres of a 1300 acre garden preserve in upstate New York.  The Quaker Hill Native Plant Garden is a botanical garden dedicated entirely to native plants that grow in the USA east of the Mississippi to Maine and contains many rare and endangered species.   In the five years that Martyn worked on this incredible project, which involved moving specimen trees of up to 80ft in height, he was able to add a wealth of experience and know-how to his career.

Martyn has since worked and consulted for privately owned estates on the Main Line in Philadelphia and Mercer Island, Washington.

He has now decided to take his extensive knowledge and horticultural experience to launch a new company, Stirling Gardens.  It is the aim of Stirling Gardens to provide professional garden services to Architects, residential and estate garden owners and municipalities.
